How do I verify my age?

You may upload images of an adult nature to your profile. The editorial team will classify them as adult and as such they will receive a Restricted graphic/symbol. If you wish to view restricted pictures on member profiles, your age must be verified. This helps us to protect minors from viewing 18+ images.

Blocking Members

How do I block members?

There are two methods to block an undesired member from communicating with you. 1. Via the 'Search Results' page. When previewing member profiles after conducting a search you may click on the 'Block Member' icon to block that particular member.
2. Via your adultsOnly mailbox. When viewing messages in your mailbox click on 'Subject' to view that message. On the menu bar above the message, click on the word 'Block Member'.

Chat Room

Why can I not access the chat room?

Only full members can access the chat room at any time. Basic members can only access the chat room from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. Please make sure you upgrade your membership to enter the chat room.

Does the chat room support audio?

Yes - the chat room supports voice chat. Firstly you must ensure that you have a microphone plugged in. If your microphone is plugged in, in the lower right section where your profile appears, you can activate voice chat by clicking the "A" button under your profile picture. Select the microphone icon that appears and adjust your microphone volume. If you wish to voice chat with other members, click on their name in the chat room list and it should appear in the lower left section. If they too have a microphone you should be able to click on the "A" button to activate their microphone and chat by voice.

How do I type in the chat room?

Simply type in the section that says "type here" and press enter or click the send button and you are chatting live in the general chat room.

How do I use the video chat function?

This chat room supports video chat. You must ensure that you have a webcam plugged in. If plugged in, in the lower right section where your profile appears, you can activate your webcam by clicking the "V" button under your profile picture. Select the camera icon and it should detect your webcam. If you wish to video chat with other members, click on their name in the chat room list and it should appear in the lower left section. If they too have a webcam you should be able to click on the "V" button to activate their webcam. You can make the video window bigger or smaller by clicking the "+" or "-" under the members profile picture or webcam window.

I do not have a webcam, can I still use this chat room?

Yes! You do not require a webcam or microphone to use this chat room. You can simply use the text chat functionality until such time that you acquire a webcam and/or microphone.

What is the webcam chat etiquette?

Only persons 18 years or over are permitted in rooms or can appear on webcam.
Be Nice! - Please be respectful & courteous.
Don't Be Shy - Just say hi!
No Spam - Don't flood rooms with advertising, promotions, contact details, urls or similar.
Report Abuse - No one deserves to be overly exposed to indecent behaviour.
Block Members - If someone is offensive, block that member from corresponding with you (viewing pane menu at bottom left, click 'block').

What do I do about offensive members?

Block them, they can no longer communicate with you. If any members are causing you any distress or are in any way affecting your experience with adultsOnly report it immediately to abuse@adultsonly.com.au

How do I make an abuse report?

If a member is continuously abusive in the chat room, you may choose to send an abuse report via the report abuse button.

This report will record the last 50 sent messages from the chat room.

Please use the abuse report instantly after the abusive behaviour happened, as it only selects people who have recently been talking.

Why is the chat window not loading?

The Chat Service is a third party flash based application. You will need the flash plug-in installed to be able to use the Chat Window. You can download the flash plug-in from here, although current windows operating systems and browsers have this already installed.

You must be a registered member who is logged in with an active status to access the chat service.

The chat window is optimised for use with a broadband connection. The chat window alone will take a couple minutes to load if you are using dial-up connection.

From time to time their may be delivery outages or overloads on the Chat Application. Please try again later.

How do I invite members to the chat room?

This feature is for full members and is designed to give you the ability to have a chat to other members who haven't signed up for full membership yet.

You may invite up to 3 members to join you in the chat room at any time, the member(s) you wish to invite need to be online at the time of invitation (Check 'Who's online').

Just click on the 'Invite to chat room' link in the top bar when viewing the members profile. After you have sent an invitation the member(s) has 30min to accept the invitation. Once your guest has accepted, they have 2 hours to join you in the chat room to find out if you have a connection!

Contacting Other Members

How do I contact other members?

There are four ways to make contact with other members. As a full member you may contact other members by sending them a Flirt, a Message, or by using the Chat Room. See each of the appropriate sections to find out more. As a basic member you may contact other members by sending a flirt. Sign up for a full membership now and start messaging or chatting with other members!

Email Contact Notifications

What is a contact notification?

When a member sends a flirt or a message, you will receive an email notification to your private external email address (the email address that you registered with). The notification informs you that a member has contacted you via adultsOnly. The notification prompts you to log on to your adultsOnly account and check the flirt/message.

My Inbox is filling up fast, can I turn these email notifications off?

Yes. If you check your account daily and you are getting many email notifications, you may want to stop these incoming daily notifications each time a member sends you a flirt/message. Go to 'My Account' then proceed to 'Notification Settings' and check the notifications you wish to receive, if you don't want any notifications select 'No'.

Flirts

What are flirts?

A flirt is a method you can use to gain attention from other members you are interested in. To use this option you need to have an active profile. When you have found the profile you wish to contact, click on the flirt icon, choose the appropriate flirt from the list and hit submit. The member will be sent a flirt email notification letting them know you are interested in contacting them, and it includes a link to your profile.

The member can then click on the link to view your profile and can then reply to you.

How do I reply to a flirt?

After you've read the flirt in your flirt Inbox, click on the profile link to view their profile. If you want to contact this member, you can either reply to the flirt, send a message or an instant message (if they are online).

A new incoming flirt has the status or type of 'flirt.' After you have replied to the flirt it's status or type changes to 'replied'.
Your flirt reply to an inbound flirt is stored with that flirt in your flirts inbox. Just click on the message itself which opens the flirt to show you your reply. It's located under your original inbound flirt message. This way you can control whether you have replied to flirts or not and what replies you actually sent. A member's reply to your outbound flirt is stored with your 'Sent' flirt in your flirts inbox.

I received a notification that I have received a flirt but I can't find it in my flirts box, why?

If it's a reply to your initial flirt then it will be stored under your initial flirt in your flirts inbox. Click on the message itself to open it.

Why can't I send a flirt?

Check your profile status on your 'My Account' page. Your profile must be active in order to send flirts. Full members can send 15 flirts daily, basic members can send 1 flirt. Upgrade your membership now! You may have just edited your profile in which case your profile is temporarily locked until your profile is re-approved. Please be patient.
You may have reached your daily limit on the number of Flirts you can send in one day. You may start sending flirts again tomorrow.

Logging In

Why should I log in?

You can search profiles on the site without logging in, but if you want to read your messages, edit your profile; contact a member or check 'My Profile Views', you will need to login to your account. Logging in also updates the 'Last Visited' time stamp on your profile, allowing your profile to appear higher in search results. For trouble free login, please ensure you have your cookies enabled. The latest browsers automatically have the correct settings.

Why am I having problems logging in?

Ensure you are logging on to the correct site and that you are using the correct username and password. If you are not sure of your username and password:

Click on the 'Lost your Password' link under the 'Member Login' box, enter the email address you used when you created your account and click on the 'Send me my Password' button.

Your username and password will be sent to the email address that you registered with.

Why can I still not login?

Please ensure that your Browser settings are correct.

In your internet browser window, go to Tools/Internet Options. We recommend you reset the default values of your browser so you can log on to your account.
Click on the Security tab; click Default Level to set this to Medium, click Apply to save the changes. Next click on the Privacy tab, click Default and then Apply.
Click on 'OK' to close the window.

If you have an older version of Internet Explorer, you will need to click on the Help link to find out how to restore your default settings or enable cookies.

Try another computer, this will detect if the issue has to do with your PC or your PC's settings.

Mailbox & Messaging

What's a message?

Registered members can send messages to one another. Use the mailbox, like an email system to exchange personal information such as msn, phone numbers and emails in order contact members and build your relationship.

Where do I find my messages?

All site correspondence between adultsOnly members stays within the adultsOnly system which ensures ALL your correspondence with other members is kept private and confidential. Your personal email address is never made public.
Click on 'Inbox' on the left navigation menu to go to the inbox of your adultsOnly mailbox.

How do I send a message?

Once you have found a profile you would like to contact, click on the message icon. This opens your mailbox where you are prompted to enter a subject and main text. You can also add any of the emoticons provided by clicking on them. A notification will be sent to the member that they have received a contact request and prompting them to log on and read your message. The message that you sent will be stored in your 'Sent' area.

Why can't I send a message?

Check your profile status on your 'My Account' page. Your profile must be active and you need to be a full member in order to send messages.
You may have just edited your profile in which case your profile is temporarily locked until your profile is re-approved. Please be patient.
Also, you may have reached your daily limit on the number of messages you can send per day.

What are automatic replies?

Once activated, an 'Auto Reply' will automatically send a reply to your new incoming messages. It is an automated response. The Auto Reply function is useful when you are unable to answer your messages and wish to advise members of this. It's commonly used when members go on holiday, are away, or just can't answer their messages straight away and want to politely inform members that there may be some delay in responding. Auto Replies are similar to templates in the sense that you must create your custom Auto Reply text and then set it to active. To create an Auto Reply, proceed to Inbox and click on 'Automatic Reply'. Once you are satisfied with your text, click 'Update' and your Auto Reply is saved. You can create multiple Auto Replies, however only one can be active at any one time. Once you've created your Auto Reply you can set it to active by clicking the 'activate' link next to the automatic reply.

What are message templates?

This function allows you to create a template (copy) that you can use when manually composing or replying to messages. Templates save you time and effort as you don't have to write the same or similar message to different members each time. Just select your custom created template and send the message. To create a template, proceed to 'Inbox/Templates' and click on 'Create'. Fill out the subject and main body text. Once you are satisfied with your text, click 'Update' and your template is saved. The templates interface also allows you to delete and edit your templates at any time. To use a template, open the message in your inbox that you want to reply to and select 'Reply to Message'. The select the template (Select Template) that you want to use from the dropdown box below the message by clicking on the small arrow symbol on the right of the 'Select Template' box. Once selected, the template reply will fill the message field keeping the message unique history underneath. Click 'Send' to send the message.

How do I become a member?

Why should I upgrade my membership?

Everybody who chooses not to sign up to become a full member will stay a basic member on adultsOnly. Only members who upgrade to full membership will gain access to all features on adultsOnly. These benefits include:

I've received an email asking me to confirm my email address but I can't click on the link to verify my email, why?

This is due to certain settings on your PC. Forward the confirmation email to admin@adultsonly.com.au and we will send you the correct URL to copy and paste into your browser address field.

How do I change my username, email or password?

To change your username, email address or password go to 'My Account' – 'Modify Profile'. Note that username changes are subject to moderator approval, which only takes a short time during normal business hours.

How can I suspend my membership?

If you're just looking for some 'time out', you can suspend your profile. Proceed to 'My Account' – 'Suspend Profile', you can return at a later stage to reactivate.

How do I cancel my membership?

You may cancel your profile at any time. Proceed to 'My Account/Cancel Membership'.

Please note that if you are paying by credit card you do have to cancel your membership with our billing provider Verotel to stop reoccurring billing. We do not respond to any cancellation requests via email.

In order for us to continually improve our service please inform us of any issues or areas that may have led to your dissatisfaction.

NOTE: By cancelling your membership, your profile, and all contact information will be deleted and cannot be retrieved.

Private Galleries

How do I access a private gallery photo?

You must be a full member and have been granted access by the member of private gallery you wish to see.
If you see a profile you like with a 'Private Gallery' Symbol - click on that image.
A pop-up window will open and prompt you to click the link that will make a request to that member of your wish to see their private gallery.
If that member is online at the same time they will receive an alert in the instant messenge window informing them of your request to view their private gallery. They can then either approve or reject your request for access to their private gallery.
If they are not online, you will have to wait until the member approves or rejects your request for access to their private gallery.
Once your access has been approved, you will receive an instant message informing you. Proceed to that members profile and you should now be able to view those photos that were previously marked as private.

How do I allow a member access to my private gallery photos?

When someone requests access your private gallery you will receive an instant message.
When you receive this notification, proceed to 'Private Gallery' in the left hand side menu.
You will see a table with member names that you have either rejected, approved or who are pending access to your private gallery.
If you wish to allow someone access to your private gallery, simply click the text link 'Approve' next to their profile name.
If you don't wish to allow this member to access your private gallery, click the text link 'Reject'.

How do I remove another member's access to my private gallery?

If you wish to remove access from someone that you had previously granted access to, view your private gallery list and click 'remove' next to their name.

I still can't view the private gallery photos, why?

I received an email notification that I had been granted access; Reason- the member has since deleted or rejected your access.
I received a flirt that I would be granted access; Reason- the member has forgotten or has not yet granted you access.
I have been granted access but the photos are restricted; Proceed to 'My Account' and upgrade your membership.

Profiles

How do I create a profile?

Once you've received your email notification that your initial registration is approved you can proceed to log on and complete your profile.

There are three pages of multiple-choice questions. These questions allow you to select your age, marital status, appearance, background, your interests and the type of relationship you are seeking.

These multiple-choice questions determine how your profile is searched online.

On the fourth page you will find two description boxes 'General' and 'Looking For' where you can write about yourself and who you would like to meet.

AdultsOnly is currently only accepting registrations from Australian residents.

What photos types and sizes are allowed?

Either JPEG or GIF format, maximum image size 3MB.

The minimum size for all photos is 130px height/width.

How do I upload a photo to my profile?

To add a photo to your profile, log in, and click on 'My Photos' which is located underneath your profile picture. Follow the prompts.
It may take a few seconds for your photo to upload, and you will receive a message saying that it has been successfully completed.
Your photos and videos must be approved for appropriate content, please ensure your media is within the editorial guidelines.
If you have issues uploading photographs you may also send them to our editorial team at e-mail: admin@adultsonly.com.au and they will add your images to your profile.

What is a main photo?

The 'Main Photo' is the one image that appears alongside your brief profile as the result of a 'Search'. It is important as this photo determines whether the visitor clicks through onto your profile (and ultimately contacts you) or moves on.
Studies have shown your chances of being contacted increase by up to five times if your profile contains pictures. If you choose not to select or display a 'Main Photo', your profile will display the neutral graphic 'no picture available'. This will reduce your contact chances.
Your 'Main Photo' should be a clear image of yourself or of both of you if registered as type 'Couple'. This photo is about you and only you.
The following guidelines apply to 'Main Photos':
1. It's a photo only of you. Single persons may not submit images of themselves with other persons unless they are a 'couple'.
2. Photos of celebrities or models are not permitted unless this is you.
3. Strong sexual suggestion or explicit nudity and definitely genitalia is not permitted for the 'Main Photo'.
4. Landscape and scenery is not permitted
5. Photos of a cartoon, illustration, animal, scenery, object or person other than yourself are not permitted.
6. No photos of you aged under 18 years, we cannot approve photos of minors (no babies or children).
7. No promotion of a third party entity, company, website, service or watermark.
8. No infringement or violation of intellectual property rights is permitted

What are gallery photos?

The 'Gallery Photos' are the multiple photos that appear on your expanded profile. They are about you and your lifestyle, your friends, your environment, your holiday, your pets, your car etc. Gallery photos do not underlie the stricter requirements of 'Main Photos'. Almost any photos about you are permitted with the exception of:
1. Photos of you aged under 18 years, we also cannot approve photos that contain minors (no babies or children).
2. Promotion of a third party entity, company, website, service or watermark.
3. Infringement or violation of intellectual property rights.
If you choose not to select or display any 'Gallery Photos', your profile will display the neutral graphic 'no picture available'. This will reduce your contact chances.
You may further classify 'Gallery Photos' as 'Private' (by invitation only). Furthermore, the adultsOnly editorial team may classify photos as 'Restricted' in order to protect minors from viewing adult images. To view 'Restricted' images you must verify your age.

Why is my photo not showing on the search results?

You haven't set one of them as a 'main' image. Proceed to 'My Photos', find a suitable image that is approved and click on 'Make Main'.

What information do I submit?

General: Begin by describing who you are, your personality and how you spend your time. You may want to write about your interests or hobbies, your work, family or friends, your travels and where you grew up. You need to fill in at least 1 line, and you can write as much as 20 lines. Please do not add repeated words, unusual characters or all capitals as profiles will not be approved if you do not include enough information. Remember - the better the profile, the more chance you have of being contacted.

Seeking: To avoid disappointment and unwanted contacts, it is essential to be specific in what you are seeking from a relationship. What is important and acceptable to you? What about their values or morals? What type of personality and appearance do you prefer? What interests, hobbies, or travels do you what to share? Where would you prefer they live?

Once you completed your profile, it will be manually approved.

Many members search by photos only, so why not add a photo of you by clicking the 'My Photos' link, and follow the prompts. Please select a recent photo.

What information is inappropriate?

Profile copy will not be approved if it contains:
1. Inappropriate language
2. Personal contact information, such as telephone numbers, email address, ICQ or contact address
3. Sexually explicit language or strong sexual references
4. Defamatory, abusive, aggressive or violent copy
5. Offensive or obscene language (including swear words)
6. Racially offensive or blasphemous terminology
7. Promotion of a third party entity or service
8. Illegible content, nonsense or insufficient content

When will my profile be approved?

All profiles and photos are manually approved (moderated). You can modify or update your profile as often as you wish, however, each time, it will be pending moderator approval and may be locked for some time especially on weekends. If you remove a photograph or change any of the multiple choice questions, your profile will not be locked as it does not need to go through profile approval.

All profiles are manually approved for appropriate content, generally within several hours. It may take longer on weekends. Once your profile has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that your profile is active.

Why was my profile rejected?

You will receive an email outlining why your profile was declined. If you are still unsure, please request clarification from the editorial team at admin@adultsonly.com.au

Why are some profiles not available?

Members may suspend or cancel their profile; they may also have their membership terminated by Admin. If you send a message or flirt to a suspended profile, you will receive the message that this member is not currently receiving messages.

Cancelled profiles can no longer be found when conducting a search. Sometimes a member will send many messages and later cancel their profile. Later if you open one of these messages in your inbox and that member has since cancelled, you will see a blank field in the 'From' section. This indicates the profile no longer exists.

Search

How can I search for a member?

There are three ways to search for members:

Basic search: This allows you search by gender, age and state and provides the widest possible search results.
Advanced Search: Narrows down your search results, to include the type of relationship you are seeking, race, religion, height, body type, marital status and whether they have a photo.
Username search: Lets you search for a particular username.

Why can't I find a member that was there yesterday?

This Member may have since cancelled their profile.
You may be entering the incorrect username. Check for misspelling and empty spaces.
